Technology for the classroom

Quick Start

Teacherstack is a website composed of many apps for making teaching in the classroom fun and easy. Students are organized into classrooms which are then accessible by the apps to help you with daily classroom activities. Follow this guide for help setting up and using Teacherstack apps.

Getting Started

When you first register, you will see your default classroom. If you have more than one class, click on the plus sign to create a new class. Whichever classroom is currently selected is the one that gets used by the apps. Click 'Go to classroom' to add students to the current classroom.

Adding Students

Once in your classroom, you will be able to add students and rename or delete your class. If you choose to add student birthdays, messages will appear throughout Teacherstack on the students' birthdays. Random Student Picker and Morning Work are two apps where messages will appear.

Now that students are added to your classroom, you are ready to use the apps. Click on one of the apps on the main page to start the app.

Station Rotations

Station rotations allows you to configure students into groups, create stations, assign groups/stations, and configure timing and music options. Simply click run and watch the station rotations run themselves. If selected, the music will play during the transition periods. A bell will ring to indicate when a rotation starts or finishes.

Station Rotation terms:

  • Subject: subject you are using the station rotations for (Ex. Math)
  • Group: group of students
  • Station: center that is visited by one or more groups (Ex. Meet the Teacher, Technology)
  • Schedule: defines a set of stations and music/time options (Ex. Monday). Schedules let you create different sets of stations while using the same student groups. For example, your Monday and Tuesday schedules might have the same groups but different stations.
  • Rotation Type: determined when schedule is created. Choose "stations" if you want stations to be the header of the table. Choose "groups" if you want groups to be the header of the table. Whichever one is not the header is the option for each rotation. See images below for examples.
