Teacherstack is a website composed of many apps for making teaching in the classroom fun and easy. Students are organized into classrooms which are then accessible by the apps to help you with daily classroom activities. Follow this guide for help setting up and using Teacherstack apps.
When you first register, you will see your default classroom. If you have more than one class, click on the plus sign to create a new class. Whichever classroom is currently selected is the one that gets used by the apps. Click 'Go to classroom' to add students to the current classroom.
Once in your classroom, you will be able to add students and rename or delete your class. If you choose to add student birthdays, messages will appear throughout Teacherstack on the students' birthdays. Random Student Picker and Morning Work are two apps where messages will appear.
Now that students are added to your classroom, you are ready to use the apps. Click on one of the apps on the main page to start the app.
Station rotations allows you to configure students into groups, create stations, assign groups/stations, and configure timing and music options. Simply click run and watch the station rotations run themselves. If selected, the music will play during the transition periods. A bell will ring to indicate when a rotation starts or finishes.
This app has two functions for morning activities. Morning Work instructions are displayed while also allowing students to make their lunch choice. Add the lunch choices for the day before students get to school. As students arrive, they can tap their name from a list and then tap their lunch choice.
Birthdays can be displayed in Morning Work as shown below.
After all students have made their choice, a count for each lunch choice will be displayed. Click reset to erase the lunch choices when you are done.
This app lets you pick a student at random. By default, it is possible for a student to be picked twice before another student gets picked once.
Use a timer or stopwatch to record time.
The goals app is a simple behavioral management system for the class as a whole. Set a number of points as the goal and then add or remove points as necessary.
To-do's lets you present a list of tasks to the students.
Set your seating format and generate a random seating assignment. Click Randomize Students to switch students around. You may choose pods, rows, or custom format and can swap students as desired by clicking on the two students you wish to switch. Change the number of columns and size of the pods to fit your classroom.
Measure the noise level in your classroom and give the students a visualization.
Use the chart display when you want to leave the class for a minute and want to see how noisy the class was while you were gone.
